Introduction to Internet Marketing for Baby Boomers or Anyone Else
Read more at hubpages.comHello. I am a Baby Boomer, born in 1952. Don't get me wrong. I love my age. I have no problem with aging or with who I am. But here is my problem. I have been working since I was 15 years old. I have been nursing for nearly 40 years. I am tired of working for a boss. I hate working for the JOB any longer. So I decided to figure out this internet thing. What is all the hoopla about? Can you really earn a living online? Be your own boss? Work from home?
Well I gotta tell ya. You can. I am far from an expert, well maybe in nursing you could say that about me. But I am really just another newbie in internet marketing.
But let me tell you something about me. I love i! and I have figured a few things out. I am getting somewhere. I have plans and goals that I am meeting. It is really rather exciting.
And what I do best is help people. It is in my nature. Too many years nursing maybe, but I like helping people. So I decided to help people by sharing what I know and hopefully you will be able to quit your jobs too.
Anyway, come by from time to time and see what is happening and what you might find useful. You might be surprised.

Why Do You Need An Accessory and Camera Backpack
I am not nor have I ever been a professional photographer. Who cares? I love photography, just good old picture taking. Ever since I got my Canon, I have been snapping away. And I have taken a few really nice pictures. Although mostly of my animals. But I have a ton of fun.
But why do I feel this camera bag is so good, Because there is just nothing it won't hold. If there is one thing that is important to me it is to have everything I might need, with me, when I actually do need or want it. I hate not having it with me, whatever it is.
This bag will hold your cameras, your accessories, everything! It's great!

Ways To Help Your Herbs Stay Fresher Longer
What is the benefit of having fresh herbs or keeping herbs for longer periods? After all, the majority of people are commonly only purchasing fresh herbs for a specific dish and do not use them routinely. Often disposing the unused herbs. This is often because they know that the herbs will start to wilt and fade inside a few days.Read more at www.squidoo.com

Tips for Reposting an Older Post
Read more at blogging.yourway.netIt’s Christmas week, and most of us have things we’d rather be doing than sitting in front of the computer blogging. But if you consider blogging more than a hobby, you may feel a responsibility or obligation to continue posting for readers who might be expecting posts from you. You could write ahead, scheduling posts so that you’re still sharing new content even while off enjoying your family, but if that just feels like one more thing on your to-do list, reposting older posts may be a better solution.
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when reposting older posts:

This is a wonderful product, Amazingly useful I just had to get it and I love it!!

I have a confession to make, I am an infomercial junkie. There I said it, if my husband reads this, he will just shake his head. Because he likes them too. Back in the day when we were young and stupid, we believed a lot of them and even purchased their product which led to a major overload of JUNK in our home. So old habits changed and common sense took over. But needless to say, I just had to have this infomercial's product. I have slowed way down in the kitchen. I still love to cook and I love practically any kitchen gadget and I own a lot of them. But due to some health challenges I can no longer stand for a long time in the kitchen because it causes me pain in my legs and back. But we still have to eat! So instead of continuing to eat out all the time, I decided to invest in one more infomercial product. I don't regret it!

Feral Cats - It's Not How You Might Think
I am all of a sudden in need of understanding feral cats. Just being blessed with four feral baby kitties this Spring 2010. I needed to know what's what. I wrote this article about feral cats after doing such research.
Amplify’d from www.associatedcontent.com
Feral Cats - It's Not How You Might Think
Doing some research on ferals and having a friend that does feral cat rescue gave me quite an education. Some people erroneously think you can just round up the feral cat and somehow get rid of it, whether humanely or inhumanely, some people just don't care, and that will take care of the problem. Well you see that is not how it works in the world of feral cats.If there is a feral cat in the area, that cat has a roaming area, and a feral "family", meaning there are other cats that knows this certain area belongs to someone else. Some times their can be more than one feral family in one area. But it is a definite agreement between the ferals that this is okay. Anyway, when you "get rid" of the offending feral in your area. You DO NOT solve your problem. Once the area has been vacated by the current owning feral, it will become known that the area is available and a new feral will move in.Read more at www.associatedcontent.com

An amazing event that shouldn't be ignored. May be awhile before I get to see this again.
Eclipse-A spectacular Lunar Event
An amazing celestial event is taking place late December 20th to early morning, December 21st on the east coast in the USA. The earth and the sun will interact to make a lunar eclipse. Not everyone on the planet will see the eclipse. North and Central America and Small part of South America will have the best view. Western Europe will be able to see the beginning of the spectacular sky event and Western Asia will only see the very end.
This eclipse happens at the winter solstice, and the moon will appear very high in the sky. The NASA experts are predicting the moon will appear bright red or orange.
The whole show is going to last about 31/2 hours. The hope is of course for clear skies. When the moon is completely eclipsed by the Earth’s shadow will last just a bit over an hour.

We were blessed with four feral kittens, WOW
This is my heartfelt story of my first encounter with feral kittens. A very meaningful and difficult to write story.
Amplify’d from www.squidoo.com
The Joy And Sorrow of Feral Kittens
We were surprised but excited about the discovery in our back yard April 2010. We had just become grand parents to 4 feral kittens. You see we had never been blessed with human babies. But we consider all our animals to be our children. Well the Feral Cat that roamed our neighborhood for the last three years had blessed us with this present. Now came the responsibilities. But first the love and joy of kittens. Mama was far to cautious to let us get close enough to the infant kitties to take pictures. The photo here and throughout is of the kittens between about 12 weeks and finally Tommy at six months.Read more at www.squidoo.com

fingerless gloves free knitting pattern
I love fingerless gloves. They keep your hands warm and your fingers are free for typing or anything. But amazingly enough your fingers are warm too. Here is a free pattern for some nice simple and very pretty ones.
Amplify’d from www.favecrafts.com
Julianne Fingerless Gloves
These knitted gloves offer lots of warmth for the hands and wrists with the fingers free. This glove is shaped to fit comfortably around each finger.
Read more at www.favecrafts.comMaterials:
- Yarn: Brown Sheep Lambs Pride-Bulky, wool and mohair. 1 skein or 125 yds of bulky yarn.
- Knitting Board (26 needles)
- Knit hook
- Crochet hook
- Large eyed sewing needle
Measurements: 8” bottom of fingers to cuff, aprox 10” around base of fingers, 12” at fullest point
Instructions:
Gauge: 2.5 sts=1”
- Start glove at cuff in rib stitch.
- Cast On 18 stitches in rib stitch. Lay anchor yarn of same yarn.
- Knit 10 rows in rib stitch.
- Change to Stockinette stitch for the remainder of glove.
- Knit 1 row in stockinette stitch.
- Increase 1 stitch each end of board. Knit row.
- Knit 1 row in stockinette stitch.
- Repeat these two rows a total of 2 additional times. You have added a total of 6 new stitches or now have 24 stitches on your knitting board.
- Knit 1 additional row.
- Thumb Shaping:
- Bind Off 3 stitches at each end of the knitting board. At yarn end, be sure to lay the working yarn between the 2 rows of needles. This way it will be in position for the next row. Place the last bind off loop onto the 4th needle on either board. Knit 2 rows in stockinette. Be sure to lift both lower loops at needles with extra loop. All
- needles will have just one loop.
- Increase row: You will do 3 increases in the same row.
- Shift all loops on left end of board over 1 needle till you get to center of knitting. This will leave an empty needle in center of knitting. Increase to empty needle from needle on right side of empty needle.
- Increase each end of board. You should now have 21 stitches on your knitting board.
- Knit 1 row across all stitches.
- Center Bind Off:
- You will shape the center of the knitting for the little finger.
- Go to center of stitches. (10 on one side and 11 on the other).
- Bind off from center to left, 2 stitches. Place the loop onto the next needle.
- Bind off from center to right, 2 stitches. Place the loop onto the next needle, same board. You now have 2 sections of knitting.
- Start at end with yarn attached. Knit 1 row of this section only.
- Decrease 1 stitch at beginning of next row. Knit this row.
- Bind Off loosely. Cut yarn.
- Work the other side of board. Start by tying on the yarn at beginning of section.
- Knit 1 row of this section.
- Decrease 1 stitch at end of next row. Knit this row.
- Bind Off loosely. Cut yarn.
- This is how your knitted piece will look:
- Sewing and Finishing:
- Fold glove, matching the thumb shapes and the top and bottom of glove.
- Use invisible stitch to do the side seam.
- Sew from bottom of cuff to thumb shaping. Do not sew the bind off stitches as this is what wraps around the thumb.
- Knot the yarn. Sew from the top of the thumb to top of glove.
- Place glove on hand and mark the points that correspond to the space between the fingers.
- You can secure these points with a short piece of yarn by tying the two sides of glove together. It will be a ‘tacking’ of the 3 points between the fingers. If you want a more distinct finish around the finger openings, you can crochet the edge around each finger, securing the 2 sides of glove at each contact point. Either way, the glove is set to fit your fingers and thumb.
- Bottom at cuff: Your bottom edge is ready to finish off. It can be left as is by tying the anchor yarn loosely and leaving it in. Or you can bind off the edge with the crochet hook. To bind off, start at end opposite your yarn tail. Pick up 2 loops, pull loop closest to hook thru the other. Pick up 1 additional loop and pull one thru the other. Keep doing this until you have gone around the cuff. Pull yarn tail thru the last loop for a knot. Secure all yarn tails by pulling them into the knitting with the crochet hook. You may want to add extra stitch and knot at all stress points.
- Knit the 2nd glove.

Gastric Bypass Diet Safe Banana Bread Recipe
Welcome in Fall by baking a loaf of
“Olma Elsie’s” Banana Bread
A Gastric Bypass diet approved recipe.
Although banana bread is good anytime of the year, there is nothing that compares to a fresh baked loaf of banana bread warm from the oven. Its aroma fills your home with a sweetness that even the finest candle companies can’t replicate. This family recipe was adapted with Baking Splenda. The recipe uses half the amount of regular sugar. Baking Splenda is a sugar blend. It incorporates granulated Splenda with refined sugar. The end product will render 3gm of sugar in the serving, which is legal on the Gastric Bypass Diet. If you choose to make this bread with the granulated Splenda and make it Sugar Free, there is a technique that you’ll need to know to ensure a successful out come.
INGREDIENTS:
* ½ Cup “ Sugar Blend” baking Splenda
* 2 Cups all purpose flour, sifted
* 1 tsp. Baking soda
* ½ tsp salt
* 2 eggs
* 1 stick butter, softened, but not melted
* 1 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
* 4 –5 ripe bananas
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a bowl cream together 1 stick of softened butter and ½ C Sugar Blend Splenda. Beat until fluffy and well creamed. Add eggs, one at a time to incorporate well into the mixture. Sift 2 cups of all purpose flour, 1tsp. baking soda and ½ tsp. salt. Slowly add dry ingredients to your creamed mixture.
Once blended, add 1 tsp. vanilla extract. Now begin adding the bananas. Instead of mashing the bananas, cut into pieces and add them one at a time. Blend well. The mixture will appear lumpy. If you’d like to add nuts, it’s totally optional. ½ cup chopped nuts of your choice can be added at this time.
Generously spray a loaf pan with cooking spray. Pour batter into the pan and bake on the middle rack on 350-degree oven for 55 – 60 minutes.
* Optional * before placing in the oven lightly sprinkle 1 tsp. of the sugar blend Splenda to the top of the loaf. This topping will give the loaf a sweet crust.
Check loaf by inserting a wooden toothpick into the middle of the loaf. If the toothpick is dry the loaf is done. Any moisture on the toothpick requires more baking time in 5 minutes increments. When done, remove from the oven and cool on a tack 20 –30 minutes. Gently turn pan and tap to remove loaf. Continue to cool on rack. Eat and Enjoy!!
* If you choose to make this with granulated Splenda and therefore Sugar Free, you must add the Splenda to your dry ingredients. Blend your eggs and butter, beating until fluffy, then add the sifted flour, baking soda, salt and granulated Splenda. Compete the remaining steps as above*

Breast Cancer is No Longer a Death Sentence
This is an article I wrote for Breast Cancer Awareness Month-October. It really is no longer a death sentence to be diagnosed with breast cancer. We just really need to become familiar with our bodies and notice any changes early. Early detection is key for a cure. Advancements in treatment and recognition is constantly improving and the outlook is getting less and less scary. Remember, Breast Cancer, is just a diagnosis, we can beat it!!
My Puppy Mill Puppy, Abigail
This page is my favorite because it is my love, my heart, my Abigail. She is no longer with me. I had her for nearly 15 years. She was a rescued puppy mill puppy. She had a challenging life due to medical issues but she was the most devoted and amazing dog in the world. I am still sad for her loss and I visit this lens more than I should admit I think. But she was just so special I can't help it. I hope you will love her too. She would have loved you
Foxy The Rescued Barn Kitty - A Dog's Best Friend
This is our Foxy that we are so crazy about. She is our rescued Barn Kitty. We had to nurse her back to health because she had a rough start in life. But boy does she have it made in the shade now! She has given back more than we ever gave. I'd like every one to meet our Foxy, the rescued barn kitty, and see what she is up to with her new paralyzed "sister" Isabel.
Almond trois laits
Muffins are a delicious way to start out a morning. With your favorite cup of coffee, tea or juice a healthy quick breakfast is within reach. Take a little time out over the weekend to prepare tres leches almond muffins for your family. They will be on a covered platter or cake dish ready for the following morning. Everyone gets a wholesome, healthy and tasty muffin for breakfast so all of you can enjoy a quiet morning at the table together.

- Grease two muffins trays with either Crisco or spray with Pam. This can be eliminated if you have muffin liners on hand.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until smooth,
- Then add the eggs and almond extract until combined.
- Add baking powder to mixing bowl, include all three milk products and then add the flour a little at a time until well blended.
- Next, toss in 1 ½ cups of sliced almonds and fold them into the almond muffin batter using a rubber spatula.
- Once all the muffin liners are filled 2/3 high in the pan. Take the remaining almond slices and sprinkle the nuts over the top of the batter prior to placing the pans in the oven.
- Bake for 15 – 25 minutes or until muffin tops are lightly golden brown in color.
- Remove muffin trays from oven and place on cooling rack. Allow 10 minutes to pass before removing muffins from pan.
- Transfer almond tres leches muffins from muffin pan to cooling rack. Allow to cool for 20 minutes before serving. Muffins will still be quite warm. Or, allow to cool completely before serving.
- Enjoy!
Suggestions:
- Vanilla extract can be used in place of the almond if you prefer less of a nutty taste.
- If almonds are not your nut of choice then feel free to substitute it with the one preferred. Pecans, hazelnuts and cashews are a few delicious choices.
- Any muffin can have butter spread inside once cut open. These almond tres leches muffins are so packed with flavor one will want to eat them right out the oven without any additional spreads or toppings.
- You can always add 1/4 cup of any chopped fruit that you love into the batter to give these muffins a little extra flavor.
